November 19, 2010 // Gulf Stream Completes LEED ® – Certified Projects

Introduced in 2000, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) program was the catalyst to start articulating new integrated and measurable goals in the construction and development industry. These goals are changing the way we approach the design, construction and operation of our sites and buildings. This program encourages the adoption of sustainable green building and development practices.

LEED® promotes a whole-project approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.

LEED® Professional Accreditation distinguishes construction and design professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the certification process. Our Project Managers and Estimators are LEED® Accredited Professionals. Gulf Stream is a leader in the Charleston site construction industry for environmentally friendly, low impact site construction and improvements. We have successfully completed many projects throughout the Charleston region which have been LEED® -certified and feature construction elements focused on sustainability, conservation and smart growth development.
